About Us
BMT's Research and Development Directorate is a commercial 'think tank', set up to apply cutting edge technologies to the solving of real-world problems. The directorate is outside of the main structure of BMT and reports directly to the board of directors, allowing it to enjoy a great degree of flexibility and autonomy.
The directorate is made up of a team of highly skilled research scientists, reporting to a director and supported by a dedicated administration section. Research is carried out within the European Commission funding frameworks and BMT has many years experience working in such collaborative programmes.
Current projects cover such areas as public transport, e-commerce, marine navigation, process control, intellectual property rights and pollution monitoring.
